well this week was interesting. we did a LOT of calling people to repentance. ha it was scary in some instances. the first was one for a guy im not sure what his first name is. so anyways, he is super duper
lazy. he told us that the day after his baptism(20yrs ago) he went and got drunk... huh??? ya then just the last time we visited him, he told us he wanted to sign excom papers.. i have never experienced so many excommunications in my life. before the mish, none. wow crazy. so then he told us that he was leaving his wife cuz she always tries to get him to go to church and try to be a better person. granted she doesnt always do this in the most kind way, its no reason to leave your family. he is just a butthead. we asked him why he wouldn't read or pray, and he said he was just to lazy. then we told him that that excuse would never hold up to god. He didnt care. so the atmosphere eventually got extremely heated, so we had to walk out. it was crazy. its crazy, but when thoughts pop into your head, wether you realize it or not, it could be the spirit talking to you. so during that visit, the thought just randomly popped into my head "you need to leave". after that elder wood looked over at me and said "i dont know what to do now." i then said, "we need to leave". after we left, elder wood felt bad that we just walked out. he wanted to go back but i got another feeling, it kind of took over my whole body. we shouldnt go back. so i told him, and we didnt go back. we then went home. crazy....
ya so we also found out that one of our investigators was smoking marijuana... sad day. so we havent changed his date yet cuz there is still time for him to repent. so still hope. i caught two lizards this week. my cam still broken so no photos this week. sorry transfer news is on wednesday. so im super excited for it. there is a really good chance that i will train. scary. well i honestly hope that we both get pulled out of the area. i feel that the ward is waayy to dependent on the missionaries. they are soo lazy. its sad really.
last night, as i were eating dinner, i had a Brown out. :)(no i didnt poop my pants.) people here instead of saying black out, they say brown out. weird. so we woke up all sweaty and gross and tried to find the source of the brown out. we went outside to go to the electric company, no later to discover that a very large tree had been blown over into another large tree which fell and snapped our electric wire. so then we went to the company and called a service man to come out and fix the wire. we found out that we would have to buy the needed wire for the repair, so we called the owner of our house and he payed for it. when we got home from the electric comp. our water went out. so we have had no water and power for all day. so i havent been able to do my laundry. dang. haha. oh well. nothin like late night laundry.
we are going to tacloban on wednesday for a mission tour thing. one of the area pres. is speaking. also there is transfer meeting.
well thats all for now folks.. i think.. haha
Love you mommy
Love Christian.
You are a great example ... following the Spirit. You may never know why you were prompted to leave. That is not important. What is important is that you followed the prompting. As you follow those promptings, you will develop a realtionship with the Spirit. You will realize how many times you are prompted - and blessed. You should keep track of these "thoughts" aka promptings. You will be surprised at how the Lord's hand is in your life and in His work ... even in the simple things.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the spirit of God is not of contention. I'm sure it was uncomfortable for you. I wish the man could have had a taste of what the spirit of peace is like.
